Biography
Nika Akhavan is currently a graduate student at The University of Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health, where she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and a concentration in Global Health Studies. She completed her undergraduate degree in Public Health at The University of Texas at Austin, during which she also did an internship concerning Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease at the Texas State Health Department. Nika strongly believes that health is a human right, and aspires to one day help contribute in making it more easily accessible to all. This summer she will be interning at Special Olympics International in their Health, Research and Evaluation Department.
