Biography
Joanna Sánchez is a doctoral student in the Educational Policy and Planning Program at The University of Texas at Austin. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences from Trinity University in San Antonio and a Master’s in Geographic Information Science (GIS) from the University of Denver. Joanna is a Rio Grande Valley native, and her research interests are college access, minority first-generation college students and school/family/community partnerships. A first generation student herself and a Gates Millennium Scholar Alumna, Joanna is passionate about giving back and looks forward to returning to the Valley after graduation.
