Biography
Andrene Castro is a doctoral student in the Educational Policy and Planning Program at The University of Texas at Austin. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of South Florida and a master’s in urban education from Florida International University. Andrene served as an English/language arts instructor in Miami-Dade County Public Schools for nine years and as a new teacher mentor. Her research interests explore teacher education/certification and development, school and community partnerships, and the intersection of race/ethnicity within educational policies.
