Callie Jones is pursuing a master’s in social work at The University of Texas at Austin. Callie was selected to be in The Gerontology Resources and the Aging Community in Education (GRACE) program at UT, specializing in the older adult population. Callie is currently interning at a non-profit in Austin working with older adults and adults with disabilities. She is from Shreveport, Louisiana, and received her bachelor’s of arts in psychology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. In addition to receiving her degree, Callie worked as a resident assistant for three years with freshman and sophomore students. Callie has participated in internships serving veterans, adults with mental illness and Alzheimer’s Disease, juveniles in the juvenile justice system, and persons experiencing homelessness. Callie is pursuing a career in public policy, focusing on ways to improve the implementation of Medicare and Medicaid.
