Medical CenterRuba Alafifi is a medical student pursuing dual medical and master’s in public health (M.D./M.P.H.) degrees at The University of Texas at Southwestern Medical School. Ruba is passionate about health policy, public health, and global medicine. Prior to beginning medical school, she was an AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) coordinating a refugee project in Houston, Texas. Ruba has a bachelor’s degree in human development and family science, with a certificate in Social Inequality, Health, and Policy. In her free time, Ruba is an avid traveler, loves exploring new places, and photography. Ultimately, Ruba aims to practice medicine with a focus on women’s health and improving healthcare access and quality.
