Biography

Scott Vitter is a Ph.D. student in mechanical engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to arriving in Austin, Scott spent more than four years as an Engineer Officer in the U.S. Army. During a deployment to Afghanistan, Scott developed an interest in integrated energy and water systems and tradeoffs at the municipal and residential scale. Scott is currently working with Pecan Street Inc. and the University Municipal Water Consortium on a project that is using advanced metering technologies to better understand patterns of water use within the home. Scott graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame. On campus, Scott is active member of the Longhorn Energy Club and the Graduate Engineering Council.
