Biography

Wes Edwards is a doctoral student in the Educational Policy and Planning program at The University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include the analysis of policies related to school choice reform. Before deciding to pursue a doctorate, Wes spent seven years as a classroom teacher and mentor. In New York, he taught math and science at a charter school in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. He also worked within the Austin Independent School District as an Instructional Specialist. Originally from Austin, Wes attended The University of Texas as an undergraduate, receiving a bachelor's degree in the College of Education. While in New York, he earned a master’s in education policy from New York University.
