Biography
Deidra Tafolla holds a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from The University of Texas at Austin. She is pursuing a master’s degree in bilingual education with a specialization in English as a second language at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. As a graduate assistant in the Center for Bilingual Studies Office, she examines critical issues of bilingualism and biliteracy and the impact on children, schools, families and communities. After graduation, Tafolla hopes to pursue her doctorate degree in bilingual education and become a bilingual teacher in the Rio Grande Valley.
