Biography
Michael Scott is a Ph.D. student in the Educational Policy and Planning program in the Department of Educational Administration and a graduate research trainee at the Population Research Center at The University of Texas at Austin. He graduated from The University of Virginia with a bachelor's degree in Spanish and history and a master's degree in teaching. He also holds a master's degree in Spanish linguistics from Middlebury College. His research on equal educational opportunity utilizes ethnographic and quantitative methods to examine the intersection of schools and communities, particularly immigrant students in urban neighborhoods.
