Biography
Antonia Islas is a first generation college student born and raised in South Texas. She earned her B.A. at the University of Texas- Rio Grande Valley, where she is now pursuing a Masters in Public Affairs. On campus, she remains active by participating as Social Chair for the Masters of Business Administration Association and seeks to connect alumni and students to the local business community and promote economic development. Islas's life experiences have taught her to respect and believe in herself and in others equally. Upon receiving a graduate degree, Islas hopes to begin work in a public relations position for a federal agency and later pursue a PhD and participate in research regarding national security and immigration policy.
