Biography
Marissa Marinello is a student at The University of Texas at Austin pursuing dual master's degrees at the Lyndon B. Johnson Graduate School of Public Affairs specializing in international affairs, and the Steve Hicks School of Social Work. Marinello graduated from Michigan State University with bachelor's degrees in anthropology and Arabic. As an Arabic Flagship Scholar Marinello lived in Morocco studying Modern Standard Arabic, and Moroccan and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic. Marinello plans to work on refugee policy in the Middle East and North Africa creating and analyzing policies that preserve human rights and freedoms.
