Biography
Daniel "Danny" Sánchez earned his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, where he also received his B.S. in mechanical engineering. His research was supported by fellowships from The National GEM Consortium, the National Science Foundation, Graduate Research Fellowship Program, and the Ford Foundation. Danny's research focuses on the chemical and mechanical properties of bubbles made from atomically thin materials. Outside of the lab, Danny engages in multiple efforts to support minoritized communities in STEM, including LGBTQ+ people, people of color, and women in engineering.
