Biography
Maya Peterson is pursuing her M.S. degree in nursing at the Cizik School of Nursing at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Peterson has worked for many years as a pediatric intensive care unit nurse all over the country and is currently a nurse leader. She witnessed the social determinants of health impacting the lives of her patients and is passionate about ensuring all children and families have the support they need to thrive. She hopes to translate her experience into policy and is interested in pursuing politics and policy as her next career.
