Biography

Eric Hale is pursuing a master's degree in educational leadership and policy at The University of Texas at Austin. He earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Elon University in 2011 and has worked as an elementary school teacher for over 10 years. Eric has taught in the United States, South Korea, Italy, and Costa Rica. He decided to leave the classroom in 2021 to advocate for his students and fellow teachers through policy reform. Eric is currently working as a policy aide with the Office of Texas State Representative Claudia Ordaz Perez (HD-79) in the Texas State Legislature. As an Archer Fellow, he intends to work with educational advocacy organizations that focus on teacher training programs and teacher retention.
