Wahida Islam Talukder is pursuing a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at The University of Texas Permian Basin. On campus, she was a graduate student worker in the Office of Graduate Studies and the chair of the Graduate Student Association's University Affairs Committee. Talukder earned a bachelor's degree in anthropology from Jahangirnagar University, which sparked her interest in studying people's psychology and mental health in relation to social issues. Her professional background includes diversity, equity, and integrating education and social science research. Talukder intends to use her time as an Archer Fellow to advocate for an engaging approach to education policy that considers students' mental health in relation to learning experiences.
