This December Kelsey Erickson will graduate from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Government. She pursued several internships while in Austin, beginning with the Texas Governor’s Fellowship. Then Kelsey went on to intern at the Texas Senate Committee on Transportation and Homeland Security, until she accepted a full-time position as the Committee’s Clerk. During the fall of 2009, Kelsey returned to the University of Texas, eager to complete her degree. She also began to volunteer at the Teen Justice Initiative of the Texas Advocacy Project, which works to combat teen dating violence. While in D.C., Kelsey is very excited to intern with NBC’s Meet the Press, where she hopes to increase her understanding of the media and its influence on government.
