Lance Pyburn is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin double majoring in Marketing and Health Promotion. Lance has served as a Nutrition Peer Educator on campus by running workshops to help students make healthier choices. Lance began his work in nonprofits with his involvement in Texas 4000 a student group and nonprofit organization that raises money for cancer research by putting on the longest annual charity bike ride from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska. He served as a financial chair for the organization and as an Assistant Ride Director for the organization, and he continues his work with Texas 4000 today by serving with its Alumni Association. He has been involved in an anti-stigma campaign in South Africa and with expanding LIVESTRONG’s community grant program nationally. While in D.C., Lance will be interning in the White House’s Office of the Vice President as a domestic policy intern.
