Jackelin Trevino is a communication studies major at the University of Texas-Pan American. She has served on the UTPA Council for Sustainability and has interned with the Office for Sustainability where she assisted the Director for Sustainability in her efforts to move UTPA and the Rio Grande Valley at large in a more sustainable direction. Jackelin has also served on the City of McAllen's' Green Living Committee as a University Liaison and coordinated student involvement in local environmental policies. This summer Jackelin participated in the Center for Progressive Leadership's New Leaders Program, where she received training to strengthen her political leadership. Jackelin currently interns with the Sierra Club on their Beyond Oil program. Jackelin is very active in Power Shift, the semi annual youth environmentalist conference sponsored by The Energy Action Coalition. Jackelin was also honored to represent Texas and the Rio Grande Valley as a Texas Delegate at the National Wildlife Federation's Inaugural Young Leaders Assembly in April of 2011.
