Lauren is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin where she is double majoring in Latin American Studies and Geography & the Environment. During her time at UT, Lauren has held various leadership roles in her sorority, Kappa Delta, and is also a member of Orange Jackets, an honorary women’s organization where members serve as the official hosts of the university. Lauren also studied abroad in Chile for a semester where she helped with earthquake relief efforts in a small community outside Santiago. It was in Chile when Lauren developed a passion for environmental policy, particularly in the context of development. Upon returning to the U.S., she interned for the Teresa Lozano Long Institute for Latin American Studies, as well as at the Texas State Capitol. While in D.C., Lauren will intern in the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of External Affairs and Environmental Education, Office of Public Engagement.
