Matthew Metz is a senior at the University of Texas at Tyler where he is a member of the inaugural class for the school's Honors Program and a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society. A political science major with a minor in pre-law, he has a wide range of governmental interests spanning from foreign policy concerns such as America's relations with an ever-stronger China to domestic issues such as deficit reduction and entitlement spending. In his free time, Matthew enjoys reading biographies of past and present political figures and frequent trips to the nearest cinema. He is extremely excited about spending a semester in Washington, D.C. and would like to thank the Archer Center for selecting him for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. After graduation, Matthew hopes to either work on the Hill or serve America's interests abroad in one of the State Department's embassies.
