Biography

Lucy Griswold is a senior at The University of Texas at Austin. Lucy is a government major who grew up splitting her time between Indianapolis, Indiana and Miami, Florida. Alternating between these two drastically different environments engendered a strong commitment to a range of social justice issues in Lucy from a young age. After graduating from high school, Lucy participated in the Thinking Beyond Borders global gap year, a program that teaches international development coursework through academic study and experiential learning abroad. During her tenure at The University of Texas at Austin, Lucy has been a member of United Students Against Sweatshops and the International Socialist Organization. While much of her collegiate activism has focused on labor justice issues, Lucy hopes to become an educator following graduation. She has had previous internships at Texas Watch and Project Transitions and will be interning for DC Public School's Urban Education Leaders Program this fall.
