Biography
This fall, Bethany Salgado will complete her bachelor’s degree in international political economy with a minor in Spanish at The University of Texas at Dallas. Bethany gained experience in policy research, journalism, and nonprofit management through internships with U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, the Leadership Institute, the Heritage Foundation, and El Pomar Foundation. Following study abroad trips to Cuba and Spain, she joined a Spanish research team funded by the National Science Foundation. Bethany is proficient in Spanish and Arabic and is teaching herself Greek. She hopes to use these language skills to bridge cultural divides through a career in cross-cultural communication.
