Biography

Kamia Rathore studies public health at The University of Texas at Austin with a minor in core texts and ideas. On campus, Kamia is a member of the Natural Sciences Council and served as a first-year interest group mentor for the School of Undergraduate Studies. Originally from Houston, Kamia enjoys exploring urban neighborhoods by foot, spending time in coffee shops, and a good farm-to-table restaurant. Her experiences in health advocacy as an intern for the Center for Public Policy Priorities deepened a passion to understand underlying systems of poverty that contribute to health inequities and work towards solutions that empower communities and individuals.
