Biography
Matthew Carpenter is a junior and Eugene McDermott Scholar at The University of Texas at Dallas. He is pursuing a major in molecular biology and a minor in computer science. As an undergraduate researcher, Matthew has participated in molecular biology and bioengineering research at UT Dallas and the John Innes Centre in Norwich, U.K. He has also served as Managing Editor and Satire Editor of AMP, UT Dallas’s student opinion magazine. Passionate about both biotechnology and public policy, Matthew hopes to unite these interests to facilitate the development and implementation of innovative biotechnological solutions to medical, agricultural and environmental challenges.
