Mimi Nguyen is a first-generation college student majoring in neuroscience and government at The University of Texas at Austin. As an undergraduate, Mimi worked on the Freshman Research Initiative where she focused on innovations in human chromatin remodeling and functional genomics. She most recently worked as a legislative aide to the Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives during the 85th Legislative Session. Active on campus, Mimi has served as Volunteer Coordinator for Women in Medicine and participates in a number of philanthropic projects as a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Outside of school, Mimi has volunteered abroad in Honduras with the One Laptop per Child organization and in South Africa building school facilities for children. Following graduation, she plans to attend law school pursuing a career in international law.
