Alan Loera

Alan Loera is a senior at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) majoring in mechanical engineering. He has assisted graduate students with research in the mechanical and biomedical engineering fields. Loera is a member of the mechanical engineering Student Advisory Board. He also has worked for two years at UTEP's University Writing Center assisting students and conducting workshops. In his hometown, Ciudad Juarez, he serves the community as a coordinator in his local church. When he has time off, Loera enjoys reading, robotics, and learning languages. Alan plans to pursue a career in business and engineering and become an advocate for scientists and engineers in politics and policymaking.
