Biography
Xin Yee Ooi is a senior at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley pursuing a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry with honors. In high school, Xin Yee received conditional admission to Baylor College of Medicine, which she plans to attend next summer. Additionally, Xin Yee is already an experienced researcher having co-authored two peer-reviewed articles and two NIH grants, and successfully defended her undergraduate honors thesis in medical sociology. During her Archer Fellowship semester, she hopes to learn about health advocacy and policy to prepare for a politically active career in medicine.
