Biography
Alex Vaughn is a junior at The University of Texas at Dallas majoring in international political economy with minors in political science and Spanish. On campus, Vaughn has participated in his campus’ Deeds Not Words chapter, Roosevelt Policy Institute, and served as a student government senator. Recently, he worked for a year as an English Language Learner (ELL) substitute in his local Title I school, where he learned more about systemic educational inequities and how they affected his students. His political and educational experiences have developed a specific interest in how public policy affects language-speaking minorities. After graduation, he plans to earn his educational certification and attend graduate school.
