Biography

Alexzandra Roman is a Terry Scholar and junior at The University of Texas at Austin triple majoring in women and gender studies, Mexican American and Latina/o studies, and government. Passionate about the intersection of educational policy and ethnic studies, Roman interned with the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies' Tejas Foco. As a McNair Scholar, she conducted research on education, race, and gender through Northwestern University and served as an undergraduate fellow with the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy. On campus, Roman has held roles as the director of operations for the Latinx Community Affairs and as a board member of the Walker Fellowship. Her senior honors thesis focuses on research surrounding violent curriculum structures and ethnic studies. After graduation, she plans to pursue graduate school to study educational policy.
