Biography

Catherine “Cat” Mouer is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in political communication studies with a minor in government and a certificate in public policy. She is passionate about gun violence prevention and environmental policy. In her community, she has served as a Dean’s Ambassador for the Moody College of Communication, a member of the Communication Council, and a foster parent to local dogs in need. Professionally, Mouer has worked at the Texas State Legislature as a Legislative Aide for State Representative Julie Johnson (TX-115), while holding positions at the Texas Democratic Party and the Texas Public Interest Research Group (TexPIRG). After graduation, Mouer plans to return to Washington, D.C., to pursue a career in public service and a graduate degree in public administration.
