Catherine Washington is a senior at The University of Texas at El Paso double majoring in English and American literature and philosophy with a minor in political science. On campus, she recently finished her term as a senator at-large, where she served as chair of sustainability, co-chair of the Student Application Review Committee, and general and special election advisor. Off-campus, she interned with the El Paso Municipal Court’s Teen Court and Juvenile Case Management program, mentored early college students in legal competitions, and simultaneously held a full-time job in food service. After graduation, Washington plans to pursue law school as well as a Master of Law degree in international human rights, which will enable her to focus on ethical issues globally.
