Fran Stum is a junior at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a degree in environmental engineering with a Bridging Disciplines Programs certificate in public policy. She is a Presidential Scholar and College Scholar in the Cockrell School of Engineering. On campus, Stum has worked as an undergraduate research assistant studying paleoclimate change and the effects of urbanization on Austin watersheds, as well as an undergraduate learning assistant for the general chemistry teaching team. She has also served as a Camp Texas counselor and service chair for Texas Women of Excellence, a service organization focused on empowering women and volunteering with Posada Esperanza. After graduation, Stum plans to attend law school and pursue a career in environmental justice.
