Biography
Janae Steggall is a first-generation college student and senior at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in international relations & global studies with a minor in history. She is a Dedman Distinguished Scholar and led TX Votes as president after two years of leadership in voter education and registration efforts. She has served a mentor for Liberal Arts Honors students and first-generation Longhorns, planned the 2021 graduation for first-generation college students, interned with Texas State Representative Ryan Guillen (TX-31), conducted policy research as a Brumley Next-Gen Scholar, and volunteered with local campaigns. After graduation, Steggall plans attend law school and work to protect voting rights for Texans.
