Meg Espey is a senior at The University of Texas at Austin pursuing a dual degree in social work and communication and leadership with a minor in business foundations. On campus, Espey was the executive board member for the student-led organization Collegiate Foundations and vice president of philanthropy for the University Panhellenic Council. She has also been a member of TEDxUTAustin, Phi Delta Phi, and Pi Beta Phi. Through her coursework and volunteer work with groups such as the Boys and Girls Club of Austin and Communities in Schools, Espey sees firsthand the value and benefit of mentorship and relationship building. Knowing that she can impact someone’s life is what determined her degree plans and what motivates her every day. In the future, Espey hopes to bridge the gap between social work and law by becoming either a lawyer, advocate, or lobbyist.
