Biography

Samir Karn is a senior at The University of Texas at Tyler pursuing a double major in economics and political science. He has been actively involved in several school organizations, including Student Government Association and the Nepali Student Association, among others. Karn is an international student from Nepal, a small country in South Asia that is plagued with issues of inequality. His passion for promoting economic and social equality rises from his upbringing. Karn has volunteered at several organizations in his home country, providing relief efforts and seminars to raise awareness on unjust social norms and human rights. He strongly believes in the power of economic equality and its effect of bringing true equality. He plans on working in policymaking or activist organizations to promote economic education and equality by raising people’s living standards.
