Sofia Gonzalez is a senior at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in international relations and global studies with a minor in anthropology and a certificate in German. She completed her honors thesis on the political inclusion and efficacy rates of tribal groups with a concentration of the Maori in New Zealand. Gonzalez has held internships with the Department of State's Diplomat in Residence Kristen Sivertson, NuStar, the Molecular Biological Anthropology Lab at UT San Antonio, and Siller Law Firm in Boerne, Texas. During her junior year she was the internal director for the International Relations and Global Studies Council and taught piano lessons while pursuing her two internships. After graduation, Gonzalez plans to earn a master's degree in international policy and pursue a career in the Department of State to support the development of international human rights.
