Biography

Daniela K. Cisneros is a senior at The University of Texas at El Paso majoring in political science with a minor in legal reasoning. Cisneros recently interned for the Texas Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy to implement a project to specifically aid young women in need of healthcare, financial, or educational assistance in El Paso, Texas. For nearly a year, Cisneros interned with the campaign office of State Representative Veronica Escobar (TX-16), where she organized community engagement events and efforts to increase voter turnout across the district. On campus, Cisneros has served as founder and president of Vote El Paso!, an organization that strives to increase voter education and registration amongst students. For the past two years, Cisneros has served as treasurer for IGNITE, an organization that empowers university women to run for office and to be politically educated and involved. Last summer, Cisneros was a fellow for both the Democracy Summer Program, led by U.S. Representative Jaime Raskin (MD-8), and the Arriba las Mujeres Fellowship, a program designed to teach young women about leadership, community involvement, and social responsibilities within communities. After graduation, Cisneros plans to attend law school and eventually work as an immigration lawyer in her borderland hometown of El Paso, Texas.
