Biography

Jarrad Poland is a junior and honors student at The University of Texas at Arlington double majoring in aerospace engineering and international relations. He is a recipient of UT Arlington’s DEI Merit Scholarship. Poland holds interests in national security; international relations and Far East studies; aircraft, rotorcraft, and missile analysis and manufacturing; reverse engineering; and aerospace vehicle design. On campus, he was heavily involved with the Aero Mavs, UT Arlington's competitive rocketry team, as a member of their manufacturing team. He also performed in multiple ensembles as a clarinetist in UT Arlington’s fine arts department. Off campus, Poland recently served as a congressional intern for U.S. Representative Kay Granger (TX-12 and participated in NASA's L'Space MCA as deputy project manager, where he led team members in designing a rover mission to the moon and creating a preliminary design review. He has also volunteered with Eva's Closet to help underprivileged families in Fort Worth. After graduation, Poland plans to pursue a career in the federal government or aerospace industry.
