Quincy Martin is a junior Polymathic Scholars Honors student at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in biology with a minor in philosophy of law. He is also pursuing an evidence and inquiry certificate through which he is researching the social and ethical implications of gene therapy and genomic technology on underserved communities within the United States. On campus, Martin has worked as a research assistant for the Dickenson Laboratory, designing CRISPR mutants in C.elegans. He is a member of the Natural Sciences Council’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, where he has worked to better address the needs of limited-mobility and LGBTQ+ students. After graduation, he plans to pursue a dual degree in law and bioethics and begin a career in research or healthcare law.
