Biography

Sana Khan is a junior Eugene McDermott Scholar at The University of Texas at Dallas majoring in biology with a minor in political science. Passionate about healthcare, Khan has served as an EMT with the University Emergency Medical Response at UT Dallas. She has a strong interest in health policy and served as the outreach director for the Roosevelt Policy Institute and published a policy paper to improve access to healthcare for marginalized groups. Khan has conducted research at UT Southwestern Medical Center analyzing the long-term effects of COVID-19 and is part of a cognitive neuroscience lab at UT Dallas. She previously presided over the Brain Exercise Initiative chapter at UT Dallas to help elderly patients who were suffering from isolation during the pandemic. Through these experiences, Khan has become more interested in bridging gaps and improving access to health care. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in medicine and health advocacy.
