Yomna Saeed is a senior at The University of Texas at Dallas majoring in public affairs and administration. She is a 2019 recipient of the Terry Foundation Traditional Scholarship. On campus, she facilitated a partnership between the Terry Scholars student organization and the nonprofit Human Rights Initiative of North Texas (HRI). She reviewed community Worsfold Grants with a student-faculty committee and mentored incoming freshmen. Off campus, Saeed worked as a pharmacy technician, administering over one hundred COVID-19 vaccines during the peak of the pandemic. In her most recent experience as an advocacy intern with HRI, she secured community partnerships with healthcare providers to help create a preventative healthcare series for the nonprofit's client base. This work builds on her past volunteer project called HRI Connect, a healthcare hotline supporting low-income, non-English speaking immigrants and refugees based in the North Texas region. After graduation, Saeed plans to attend law school.
