Aisha Sharif is a senior at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley majoring in biology with a minor in political science. Demonstrating leadership, she has held positions as an AMSA officer and as a senator for the College of Sciences. Recently, she interned with the UTRGV Department of Immunology & Microbiology and facilitated groups at the Harlingen Children’s Bereavement Center. Sharif also enjoys volunteering for events held at her local mosque and campus. Through her experience with shadowing and gaining clinical experience, Sharif developed a passion for understanding healthcare access issues in underserved areas. After graduation, Sharif plans to attend medical school while actively participating in initiatives related to public health.
