Angelica Montes is a senior at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in nutritional science with a certificate in social inequity, health, and policy. On campus, she is involved in Texas 4000 for Cancer. This past summer, Montes completed a 4,500-mile bike ride from Austin, TX, to Anchorage, AK, over the course of 70 days to raise hope, knowledge, and charity in the fight against cancer. In addition to her work with Texas 4000, Montes previously served as chief of Longhorn EMS, a student-led organization dedicated to campus safety and emergency response. Her efforts in pushing for an on-campus EMS responder initiative ignited her interest in health policy and pre-hospital care. Montes plans to dedicate her career to healthcare accessibility and health promotion.
