Shazmyne Rubio is a senior at The University of Texas at Arlington majoring in political science with a minor in English. On campus, she served as an outreach officer for the Russian Culture Society and has organized fundraisers for the I Care Ministry and United24 organizations for Ukraine aid and relief. Rubio has volunteered with Hagar's Heart, a nonprofit organization that donated aid for women and youth survivors of domestic abuse, and 22Kill, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness of veteran's suffering from mental health issues. Rubio is very interested in international relations and foreign policy and is a member of the Dallas World Affairs Council. Off campus, she worked as an assets protection specialist for a major retail company. After graduation, she hopes to one day employ her passions for international relations and Russian language studies by pursuing a career with the federal government.
