Modupe Orekoya is a senior honors student at The University of Texas at Arlington, majoring in nursing. Driven by her goal to amplify the voice of nurses in shaping healthcare policy, she became actively involved on campus, serving as president of UT Arlington’s Nursing Students’ Association. At the state level, she served as the northern regional director for the Texas Nursing Students' Association. She is currently researching the role of mentorship in fostering engagement and leadership among nursing students, reflecting her belief in the power of guidance and community. Off campus, Modupe works as a patient care technician at Methodist Dallas Medical Center and gives back to her community through volunteer service at The King’s Place International Food Pantry and Methodist Charlton Medical Center. After graduation, she plans to become a psychiatric nurse and pursue a doctoral degree in nursing with a focus on health policy.
