Amielia Beam is a senior at Stephen F. Austin State University, majoring in aviation sciences. On campus, she served as leader of the Lumberjack Flight Team, the National Intercollegiate Flying Association’s premier collegiate flying competition. As a 2025-2026 member of the Council of Undergraduate Research: Scholars Transforming through Research class, she conducted aviation research and shared her findings with legislative offices to advocate for improvements to Texas aviation training. As a supplemental instructor in aviation meteorology, she helped peers deepen their understanding through creative review and was recognized within her first semester for exceptional performance. She also received the Spirit of Excellence Award, which recognizes outstanding character in the Aviation Sciences program. Off campus, she has been involved with her local church, where she served as a college ministry leader and volunteered weekly to deliver groceries to community members. After graduation, Beam aspires to continue sharing her passion for aviation and looks forward to working with policymakers to better equip Texas to meet the growing demand for aviation training.
