Biography

Amoolya Tadepalli is a senior public health major at The University of Texas at Austin. She served as a National Institutes of Health Summer Internship Program (SIP) intern, conducting malaria virulence research and gaining exposure to health policy at the NIH Office of Science Policy. Amoolya previously served as a research intern with the Texas Department of State Health Services Infectious Disease Unit, supporting statewide infectious disease surveillance. She also conducted disease modeling research in the Meyers Lab, predicting measles transmission. Additionally, she worked as a medical assistant at Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Clinic and as a caregiver for an individual with muscular dystrophy. While volunteering with Caritas of Austin and Micah 6, she was inspired to conduct community-based research on food insecurity and health equity through the Dell Medical School Health Leadership Apprentice Program. After graduation, Amoolya hopes to attend medical school and pursue a career at the intersection of clinical medicine and health policy.
