Biography

Benjamin “Ben” Barnet is a senior Eugene McDermott Scholar at The University of Texas at Dallas, double-majoring in finance and economics. His academic and professional pursuits center on bridging private-sector finance with global economic development. On campus, Barnet competed on the NCAA tennis team and was a member of 180 Degrees Consulting. Off campus, he served as a program director for ACEing Autism, which offers affordable tennis programming to children with autism. Professionally, Barnet served as a consulting intern with West Monroe on the Merger & Carveout Services team and as an intern at Castle Development Group, analyzing healthcare financial systems. His international experiences, including work with communities in India and research on economic recovery in Argentina, deepened his understanding of how fiscal policies shape global mobility. After graduation, Barnet plans to pursue a career in consulting, with long-term aspirations to advance international economic development.
