Biography

Ethan Yager is a senior at The University of Texas Permian Basin, double-majoring in chemistry and biology with a pre-medical focus. On campus, Yager served as a resident assistant, PLTL leader for general chemistry, and biology chair for the Student Government Association, and participated in the UT Permian Basin American Chemical Society (ACS) Chemistry Club Chapter. Yager has conducted research in both chemistry and biology laboratories and completed a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HIS) research internship under Dr. Montes. In summer 2026, he participated in the International Research Experiences for Students (IRES), a National Science Foundation-funded program. In fall 2025, he participated in The University of Texas System’s Legislative Fellowship Program. After graduation, Yager plans to pursue a doctoral degree to explore the integration of scientific research and public policy.
