Imani Golightly is a senior honors student at The University of Texas at Arlington, double-majoring in political science and critical language and international studies, with a concentration in Chinese and a minor in economics. On campus, she served as the director of digital communications for the United Nations Association Mavericks and volunteered with Global Engagement in the Office of International Education. Off campus, she worked as a legislative intern at the Alliance for American Leadership, where she tracked and influenced legislation related to U.S. foreign aid, and as a youth ambassador for Fort Worth Sister Cities. Guided by her passion for education, she completed intensive Mandarin instruction in Taiwan as a Huayu Best Scholar in summer 2025 and intends to do so again at the National Taiwan University. After graduation, Golightly hopes to pursue a master's degree in international relations and work in the private sector on U.S.-China relations.
